This acquisition represents a major step forward for developers, educators, and enterprises worldwide. It preserves Arduino’s independence and open-source ethos while providing the resources, technology, and reach to accelerate its mission of making advanced computing and creation accessible to everyone.

The newly announced Arduino UNO Q, powered by Qualcomm’s Dragonwing™ processor, bridges real-time control with advanced AI capabilities—while Arduino App Lab unifies development across Real-time OS, Linux, Python, and AI, making it easier than ever for millions of developers to create intelligent systems at the edge.

As investors and long-time users + supporters of Arduino, Anzu Partners is proud to have helped enable this journey. We believe this acquisition positions Arduino to empower its 33-million-strong community with unprecedented tools for innovation while ensuring that open, accessible, and community-driven engineering continues to thrive.

We look forward to seeing what Fabio Violante, Massimo Banzi, Pietro Dore, and the combined Arduino and Qualcomm teams will build together in this next era of innovation.

Sincerely,

Niron Magnetics Breaks Ground on Rare-Earth Free Magnet Facility and Licenses New Motor Design Patents

    1759153741198

Niron Magnetics broke ground on a new state-of-the-art 1,500-ton-per-year permanent magnet manufacturing facility in Sartell, Minnesota. After nearly a decade of research and development in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy and the University of Minnesota, Niron Magnetics has successfully created one of the first commercially viable new magnet materials in decades. The groundbreaking marks a major milestone in Niron Magnetics’ ability to scale manufacturing of permanent magnets made from Iron Nitride, which exhibits high magnetization and removes the need for rare-earth elements.

The new 190,000-square-foot facility will expand Niron Magnetics’ capacity to supply rare-earth-free permanent magnets for data center cooling pumps, automobile motors, robotics, consumer electronics, defense and drone equipment, and other applications critical to the U.S. economy. The plant will be operational in early 2027 and will create over 175 full-time jobs in manufacturing, engineering, and operations.

XGS Energy Announced 3000-Hour Operations Milestone for Water-Independent Geothermal System

XGS Energy, a developer of next-generation geothermal power projects leveraging a proprietary water-independent technology system, announced the successful operation of its geothermal system at commercial scale for over 3000 hours, proving commercial economics. XGS is the first company to demonstrate a water-independent geothermal system at commercial conditions and scale. Operations were completed at the Coso geothermal field owned by Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure and operated by Coso Operating Company, located in the Western Mojave Desert region of California.

“This project demonstrates we are not only able to leverage TRE to produce geothermal energy at commercial scale, but also that we can substantially shorten well construction times to deliver large-scale power projects faster,” said Dr. Ghazal Izadi, XGS Chief Operating Officer. “With strong demonstrated performance of the TRE system, we can turn our focus to more traditional value drivers such as well design, drilling speed and surface plant cost, leveraging best practices from the oil and gas industry to deliver cost advantage at scale.”

Excision BioTherapeutics Announced Positive Preclinical Data from its Hepatitis B virus (HBV) EBT-107 Program

Excision BioTherapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company developing CRISPR-based therapies to cure serious latent viral infectious diseases, announced that positive preclinical data from its Hepatitis B virus (HBV) EBT-107 program were presented at the 6th ICE-HBV “HBV Cure Symposium” which took place on September 12, 2025, in Berlin, Germany.

Chronic hepatitis B caused by infection of hepatitis B virus (HBV) is one of the most prevalent infectious diseases worldwide that lacks curative therapies. While existing antiviral and immunomodulator treatments slow progression of liver disease by reducing viral load, they fail to eliminate covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) that enables persistent viral infection. Excision’s lead product candidate for the treatment of HBV infection, EBT-107, uses dual guide RNAs to excise large sections of viral DNA and effectively deactivate the virus.
