Anzu PartnersPromoted Three Business Services Team Members to Principal
Hi Anzu Partners Community,
This is Michael Burychka, Partner at Anzu Partners and Managing Partner of the North America University Innovations Fund. I want to highlight a milestone that sits especially close to the thesis behind our platform: Exyn Technologies is now public, with its common stock listed on Nasdaq under the ticker “EXYN.”
Exyn is exactly the kind of company the Longview–Anzu platform was built to back. As disclosed in its S-1, Exyn was founded in 2014 as a spin-out from the GRASP Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, led by Dr. Vijay Kumar, the Nemirovsky Family Dean of Penn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. The Philadelphia-based company, under CEO Brandon Torres Declet, has spent the past decade turning that academic foundation into a commercial autonomy platform. Its proprietary Level 4B autonomy software (ExynAI) and modular Nexys mapping payload deliver real-time, survey-grade 3D mapping in GPS-denied environments such as underground mines, tunnels, complex infrastructure, and contested battlefields at roughly one-centimeter accuracy. Since 2016, ExynAI has logged thousands of fully autonomous flights across mining, construction, critical infrastructure, and defense customers globally.
Public disclosures over the past year point to the breadth of that traction. Exyn’s defense-focused subsidiary, Range, recently executed a Vendor Loan Agreement with U.S. Special Operations Commandto establish a pathway for future adoption of its autonomy systems, and partnered with Asylon Robotics to apply ExynAI to autonomous inspection programs at the U.S. Air Force’s Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. On the commercial side, Exyn published a joint underground-mining case study with Canadian Royalties, announced a strategic collaboration with EY on mining solutions, and expanded its channel network across the U.S. (with Keystone Precision), Canada (with Measur), the U.K. and Ireland (with KOREC), and India (with SkyScout), with platform integrations onInspired Flight’s IF800 Tomcat and Trimble’s DA2 RTK. The S-1 reports $5.57M in 2024 revenue, up 22.3% year over year.
For those new to the Longview platform at Anzu, Longview Innovation joined the Anzu platform last June to create a dedicated capability for commercializing university and national-lab IP through the North America University Innovations Fund. Exyn — a Penn spin-out now trading on Nasdaq — is the latest – but not the last – example of the power of this joint platform.
Sincerely,
Michael Burychka, Partner, Anzu Partners & Managing Partner, North America University Innovations Fund
